Stern's doing a best of Billy West one day this week.
I think there was some fall out with Billy and KLSX/TACS.

Dameshek had Kimmel on his podcast last week and they were talking about "the future of radio/sat./podcasts/etc".....
Sportsguy was talking about how he feels like podcasting is at the ground floor similar to the Internet when he started his old website.....
I say dameshek, simmons and carolla should all team up... I'd pay anything to hear that show uncensored....

I was wondering about that... he seemed to be a semi-regular guest for a while.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant had a wildly successful podcast. The first series was free and after that they cost something like 99 cents per episode.
I should think Adam and friends could just find a sponsor and keep the podcast free. That's what Dan Savage does for his Lovecast. He's sponsored by Adam & Eve.

The first of Ricky's podcasts were also sponsored, but really the sponsorship just paid for bandwidth; they didn't make anything from it. They then charged for later ones and gave all the proceeds to Karl. Ricky and Steve didn't need any more money. I think the income Karl gets means he doesn't have to work any more.
What's interesting is that the podcasts came after they were on a little local FM radio station in London. I used to listen to that show. They got f-all audience while it was on, but developed a cult following.
There may be an audience for Adam to do a podcast, and people will pay for it. Not sure how many. If he did a LL-like show with Drew, it could be big.
I think Adam will end up with a few irons in the fire. Right now, even with a decent radio contract he's still doing things like hosting a Christmas tree event with Britney Spears and doing cameos in straight to video sequels.

I still haven't found out if Karl Pilkington is for real or whether he was simply playing an exceedingly stupid character. Those podcasts cracked me the fuck up, particularly Karl's attempts at weird news stories.
Any podcast Adam came out with would be huge. It seems to me that a great number of people on this board, myself included, listen to the show via podcast. A recent poll on here indicated as much. If he did some sort of talk show with Drew as an occasional guest and his other buddies (Kimmel, Simmons, DAG, McHale, Dameshek, etc.) rotating through, it would get a great response.
He certainly wouldn't make the kind of money he was making with his KLSX contract, but from a fan's point of view, an hour of Adam a week is better than nothing.

WELL dont wanna say I told you so... how could they possibly afford to drop such fantastic morning radio.
the show got stale, bad chemistry, probably bad ratings...bye bye. i wont miss it at all if it leads Carolla onto a better project, one which he more control over.
its time for someone to take out Stryker with their mini-van.

Karl is real. He refused to do any more free podcasts because he wasn't getting paid for them, and Ricky and Steve were constantly ripping the piss out of him. The result was that they charged for the podcasts and Karl made a ton of money. He is unintentionally funny, and got paid well for it. Good for him, I say!

I second that. Karl's Diary was 10x funnier than anything in T's Diary.

The one where they tried to explain to Karl that a slug was just as evolved as a human had me crying with laughter.

Or how about the bit about the old woman dying so that a baby can be born.

So they all but confirmed it this morning with Mary's call during the "how say you segment." Adam said they'd be making a "large style announcement tomorrow concerning the show...you can probably do the math." But then right after he said you can find me or will be able to find me on the webcasts.
Does this mean you'll find "re-runs" on the web or the show will continue on online (at least till their contracts are up?).
So far NONE of the on air talent has seemed particularly upset, FHF even made some off hand comments about not being around on Monday. Is it possible that KLSX's talk/people format will shift to another station entirely?
I don't know about this sort of stuff, but anyone out there have any answers?
neilt0- 02-18-2009
I think Adam may have meant podcasts -- it was Webcast Wednesday, and he may have mixed that up with the podcast term. Either way, I look forward to hearing Adam again.

Wouldn't it help to keep speculation to one thread?
