HE doesn't realize that though...

He'll be bragging for the next 15 years about how the Adam Carolla Show tanked after he left...

That is, unfortunately, exactly how he'll describe it.... and he'll believe it....

Wow, I am so bummed to hear this news. Bad, bad times....

Current KLSX Programming Director Jack Silver is leaving CBS, a company spokeswoman said.

This is the very thin silver lining to what is, overall, a mighty shit sandwich.

Seems like CBS radio is doing a lot of house cleaning, they got rid of Tom Chiasano (sp?) about a year ago too. The older program directors and mangers probably are too pricey and they're going with young and cheap

The format, described as playing "all the hits," will also be online at www.ampradio.com. Artists will include Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Rihanna, T.I., Kanye West, Usher, Britney, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, and Katy Perry, among others.

Garbage.

I wonder what Tim Conway Jr. will do. I don't want the man to be out of a job but I can't see him being thrilled about spinning music for retards.

"AMP RADIO" will target women 18-49.

Should-a called it "CRAMP RADIO".

L J- 02-18-2009
1780's Guy, will you lock this particular forum up at some point, after Friday, like you did the Dancing with the Stars forum?

crackalaka- 02-18-2009
We'll need to have a virtual "bon voyage ACS" message board party on Friday during the show. I'll bring the cyber chips and dip.

Guy DuBrow- 02-18-2009
"AMP" Radio? Why not call it BrAwNdO: Music that pepole CrAvE!

Silver needs to join Matt Millen in the Hall of Shame for all-time shitty executives with no eye for talent. Jack could have just sat back and let Ace create, the show would have been good, and Jack would collect the kudos. Instead he drafted wideout after wideout, and kept putting his stink all over the damn show.

L.A. Times article:

Beginning Friday at 5 p.m., boosters of urban-skewing artists such as Beyonce, Pink and Britney Spears will have another top 40/"CHR" (contemporary hit radio) station to sing along to in their cars, as L.A.'s only "all-talk" commercial FM station now appears to be all talked out.

We would have no choice to pay, the fanbase would not provide pirate links to a paid podcast, not here not anywhere else, just like the Hammer was not shared, unlike other broadcasters Adam has his fanbase loyalty and support and they would police themselves, the only reason we share the ACS is cause its free and the only reason we share old LL is because it technically does not exist and will never be for sale.

So if Adam did continue this show or any other via a paid subscription type of deal, if you wanted to hear it you would shell out the fee, there are many of us who would make sure of that.

I'd pay, a monthly subscription, but I'd probably have to cancel one of my porn subscriptions - Sophie's choice indeed. I think that the business model works but I'm not sure that they could get a big enough subscriber base. 20K members is a LOT. The only reason I think Adam could do it is that they've invested so much into the podcast that they've developed a pattern of behavior for many people. Pure genius if planned that way, but we'll see what happens if those people have to start paying...

Andromanche25- 02-18-2009
Great... more crappy overplayed music you can't get away from. How awesome! This is just what Adam has discussed many times over the years about radio executives and people in radio. Fucking retards!

Dear God...

I don't drink so I won't be tipping a fortie to the memory of ACS.

Instead I just put Warrant's Cherry Pie on my mp3 player. I shall look at the women in my gym while listening to that while imagining their stripper stories.

As Adam said once on Loveline, "I'd rather watch them lower a nun into a woodchipper."
