The Adam Carolla Show is ending. It is not the end of the world, of course, but I find it pretty damn sad.

There seems to be a lot of "this is a blessing in disguise, Adam will be back and more liberated and funnier with whatever he does next" sentiment from the old hands on this board. Could be true. I hope it is. But there is no way to know that. This could also be the last time Carolla has a radio/audio forum of this size and scope where we get to hear his unique point of view. It probably won't be, but it is possible. It is, indeed, possible.

So I think those who are coming on this forum (many for the first time) to express their sadness and anger probably don't deserve mockery, even if their language is a bit florid. Some of the posters doing the mocking seem to spend many, many hours a day on an internet message board devoted to the host of a radio show. Which seems a bit, uh, inconsistent.

For all its many faults, TACS was the best long form, daily show currently on the radio or internet. So I'm sorry it is ending. Something better might come along. Or maybe not. But for sure, THIS show in all its flawed glory, with its many fascinating elements and human contributors, is done. It is too bad.

Someone who is up at the time they do How Say You should call in and ask Bryan, now that the show is over, how much he has been making. I'm really curious because they make it sound like he basically makes peanuts (under 30K a year it sounds like) so it would be interesting to hear the actual number.

I know Ace has been volleying to get him more every year, but it would be interesting to hear the real figure.

Hell, why not just ask how much all of them make?

I honestly don't know where to set expectations for tomorrow - it will obviously be bittersweet, but hopefully they go out with a bang (and a lit fart, for my main man Giovanni).

As far as the salaries, I have a feeling the only person that would answer frankly would be Adam. Teresa would dance, Bryan would stutter, and silly little jokes would be made.

I'm sorry and sad to see the end of the show. I wasn't expecting it.

I was delighted with the show in 2006- I loved Adam and Dave Dameshek's interaction, Big Tad was grist for the mill (and probably cost the show almost nothing), and Teresa's struggles with the rest of the crew were sometimes painful but also interesting.

Then after the bomb was dropped and the supporting cast was dumped, we got Danny. That hurt the show a great deal because he and Adam clearly weren't compatible on the air. So that was a big mistake.

Since Danny left, I've listened to the show frequently but without much passion. I still like it, but believe that it's highest potential was hinted at in 2006.

Adam, I believe, has plenty of contract money to tide him over while he figures out what to do next. I certainly wish him well and want to hear him on the radio again soon.

I hope Teresa and Bryan and the rest of the crew don't get hurt badly by the loss of their jobs, and I hope they land on their feet as well.

God I feel like an ass to turning my back on the show... Listening to todays show on my Blackberry... This is the Adam I love and the Teresa and Bryan I love: one is waxing brilliantly, the other two are doing their jobs offering quips only every now and then...
