CarollaBoards.com - THE Adam Carolla Messageboard - Official ... unOfficial ... this is it! > In Memoriam: The Adam Carolla Show with Teresa & Bryan [Aired 1.3.2006 --> 2.20.2009] > Top 10 Show Moments - what are the most memorable?

Posted by: 1780's Guy June 24, 2008 08:17 am
So the show has had it's ups and downs over the years. Regardless of on-air staff (Rachel Perry, Dave Dameshek, Danny Bonaduce, Teresa Strasser, Bryan), there have been several "oh crap" or "wow" moments on the show.

Here are some I can think of (off the top of my head), in no particular order:

Ann Coulter interview/hangup
Gloria Allred interview
Deathdog Debacle
DAG/Teresa showdown of '08
Norm McDonald's storytelling of having "relations" with his friend's woman
Bryan confusing Danny with the "Give me a break" drop DURING the interview
Dave telling Teresa to "F off" and the resulting on-air meltdown/Adam laughter
Adam singing with his dad
Adam's "sick-out"/quitting at the end of 2007 (not the resulting shows, just the act)
Adam explains to 1780's Guy...........

HOW SAY YOU?

How could you not have the Bitch Bag on there? That was really #1, all of them really were great.

Posted by: 2nd Best Oral Receiver June 24, 2008 08:26 am
Adam announcing he was going to be on Dancing with the Stars was pretty shocking.

Posted by: Jewdo June 24, 2008 08:29 am
When John Grogan with Affordable Polygraph questioned Billy Moses

Posted by: ebolarama June 24, 2008 09:34 am
When the crazy bipolar chick flew in from Chicago because she thought Adam was speaking directly to her.

Posted by: Tairey Greene June 24, 2008 09:37 am
When Artie flipped out and quit the show.

hmm wait a minute.

Posted by: dimshine June 24, 2008 10:03 am
can't forget when Norm McDonald was on, and they did the whol riffing on Kenny Rogers' song RUBY--and Norm was like, 'He was just killing GOOKS'

man i laughed so hard, and of course they had to apologize the next day to Guy Aoki.

also loved how they got Kenny Rogers on the phone later in the week and talked about the Gatlin Brothers and how kenny sang a song about them gang raping in 'The Coward of the County'

...and there were 3 of them!

Some of my Favorites have to be the

Teresa/Dag showdown(Good times)

Joel Mchale impersonation of Adams dad talking to him threw his trumpet mouth piece.

When the Weez came in for sure.

Anytime Adam recalls the Mijos haha.

Posted by: SnDvl08 June 24, 2008 11:53 am
When Norm Macdonald and Adam did the reinactment of the Vanderslute thing! couldnt stop laughing for days!

Posted by: PopulationOverride June 24, 2008 12:05 pm
Anything with Billy in it, that kid was gold wrapped in platinum encrusted with diamonds and precious gems

Billy talking about sticking it in his neighbor
Billy taking the lie detector test
Billy describing himself as being explosive
Billy turning on Teresa
Billy getting a prom date

All around mastery, Adam is at his best when dealing with loser teens and Billy was that and SO much more.... also Teresa being exposed as a horrible shrew (Bitch Bag, DD yelling at her, When that guy from Breaking Bonaduce came in and explored her horribleness, etc) is awesome

Horrible shrew

Posted by: pmaj2 June 24, 2008 01:39 pm
When Dana Gould was in studio and they did the morning zoo bit with dana as McCain...that was hilarious and a dead on impression of mccain too

Also, when Adam was talking about taking the tupperware from his grandmother as if it were a covert operation was good too.

I sincerely did not think that anyone thought that was funny except Adam and Joel. I know I didn't.

For me, there are two standouts:

I did enjoy the Bitch Bag/Teresa meltdown.

The Kenny Rogers song breakdowns. "Tammy Wynette came to town, and she had a strap-on" -- the completely spontaneous nature of that was great (as opposed to the forced anger on some of the rants). I love when the show is "planned" to go a certain way, but gets all out of order because funny needs attention.

Great. Thanks for posting.
Highlights of this one:
Big Tad screening calls, inputs a callers name as "Pim" and when Jimmy calls him out Tad tries to convince everyone that he actually said that was his name.

Billy complaining about the Metro in LA because "you never see any white people on there"

Caller tells him to leave and come back after hitting puberty, to which Billy responded, "How dare you, thir."

I agree with you both, that was great and memorable. Although probably for different reasons... I think 1780's liked hearing Teresa cry because he dislikes her, but I like her and thought it was hilarious anyway. I like her, but she sure can be crazy sometimes.

Oh my God...I'm listening to this right now and I'm laughing out loud at my desk. It's been so long...I forgot how good this stuff was.

Picturing Billy hanging around in the parking lot and thanking Jimmy for coming in...it's just too good. How could they have fired this kid??? This was back in the day when they had made-up characters in all the time and Brusca trying to manufacture controversy. Then they stumble upon a goldmine in Billy Moses and Silver bullets him???

SHAME!!!

Posted by: kidnotorious June 25, 2008 05:19 pm
The T v Brusca isn't as great as I remembered. One of the better segments, but knowing what we now know about Teresa, its just sad...

To pick an unorthodox one, one of my personal favorite moments was Dawson's story of why he has no sense of smell...

"DOC! I AM REEEEAALLLLY HIGH RIGHT NOW! BUT I'M IN SOOOOO MUCH PAIN!"

"That's because your brain is bleeding in 3 places..."

Sorry, but thats a funny story...Especially since we know everything ended up ok, considering...

Another awesome segment. Fake Jack Silver shines in this one...

Adam asks JS to weigh in on Billy

Fake Jack: He's ratings death...I was born without a sense of irony.

and later...

Teresa; Jack, do you know what MySpace is?

Fake Jack: Uh...Teresa, we are not naming your vagina right now. Booya! One for the J-Man!

Add the two bits they replayed this week:

Norm & the Lawn

Dana Gould as Huell talking about his personal life "She smells just like apples"

I wasn't a big listener in '06, so I haven't heard this either. I don't know that it can withstand its nostalgic hype, but I'd be curious to check it out.

When Shirley Phelps called in to lambaste the "porn virgin" girl back in Oct. '06 . . .(linked in the content cavern, thanks to poster)

Phelps: "I'll bet you're an adulterer, too, aren't you, Adam?"
Adam: "God willing."

Phelps also went on record to saying the rapture would be in a year or so.

EXACTLY!

That's the only bit I've actually saved and listened to repeatedly.

HONORABLE MENTION:
When Ace and T did the baby-in-the-microwave re-enactment.

HONORABLE MENTION II:
When Adam was pretending to not know the difference between "Blackmail" and a "Black male".

Posted by: jwatkins July 01, 2008 07:56 pm
Laugh like hell when Dana acts the Evil Howser bits, then Adam tries to reel him back in. However it can go a bit too far.

Like Music Monday's the most because they break off a lot in tangents.

Posted by: mickmo2000 July 03, 2008 09:25 am
Dana Gould doing Huel Howser discussing about all the night clubs he went to such as, the Piledriver. Also, when he talked about women having a "Front Bump"

Norm and Adam doing dissecting the Kenny Rogers song "Coward of the County"

Adam singing "Young Girl", with DAG joining in later, during Teresa's News segment (only good segment in 2007, not even Danny could screw it up).

Every bitch bag Teresa lost it in.

Any Dave and Adam reenactment. Brian does a good job, but Dave and Adam were perfect.

Since the April Fool's Day prank was already mentioned I'll have to come up with another one. I really liked the Al Gore interview. He was funnier than I expected a politician to be and he riffed pretty well with Adam, even calling back the recyclarolla.

I know most of these mentioned are from last year. But my all time favorite was the white trash couple pregnant with twins (Cletus) esp. the first time Adam had them on the phone.
They kind of disappeared and I wondered if they were for real or not or if they wanted money.

I also loved the meth mom and daughter...which gave us, "Adam's on the phone."

Posted by: Lucretia McEvil July 04, 2008 12:51 pm
A few golden moments in '08 that I really appreciated as a "longtime listener"...

Getting Kenny Rogers on the phone, after years and years of Adam talking about Kenny's psychedelic days with the First Edition.

Actually getting to hear James "Babydoll" Dixon on the phone on Adam's birthday.

And, finally getting to the fucking bottom of the theme song from The Karate Kid when they talked to the guy who wrote it! I can die now. I just wish Dave had been there for that.

There was one way back when they came from a commercial with the song "Tossing and Turning" and Adam said he missed the old days when a black man could just sing about his schedule. That cracked me up.

Also all the basic cable classics are gold.

Another great underrated moment in show history:

Big Tad being accused of impregnating a girl and there possibly a 4-5 year old "Little Tad" walking around... Tad was single at the time so he was all for it because he could get back with the girl (theoretically) AND have the Little Tad he always wanted

Turns out he wasn't the Dad, which bummed him out...
