I'm subscribed to The End's mailing list and it says that their valentine's day party is being hosted by Adam. Have they ever sold tickets to this party in the past? The email implied that I'd have try calling in 1000 times to get tickets and I'm hoping that isn't the case. I'm a huge fan of Adam and listen to the station every morning when he's on, but I'm not a big fan of what comes after.
edit - here's the part from the email: Whether yer going solo, bringing a date, hooking up or playing the field, we've still got the best Valentine's Day party. 1077 The End presents the second annual Lonely Hearts Valentine's Party, Saturday February 9th at Neumos. And this year, Adam Carolla will host the pre-VD bash! With live music from Rogue Wave, Metro Station and Barcelona! Play Planned Parenthood's Spin the Bottle Wheel and win a kick-ass tee shirt! Dedicate your favorite love song in SlimFast's Karaoke Lounge! Enjoy Cuervo Drink Specials! And just in case you get lucky, snag a free "Just In Case" bag from Planned Parenthood! And the only way in is to win your ticket from The End. Keep listening for your chance to score.a ticket. The rest is up to you. Got the same email. It's awesome to see Adam do something up in Seattle. I think his show does real well up here. There is really nothing else on worth listening to in the morning. Another thing in that email was a concert for Seattle's own "The Presidents of the United States of America", one of my favorite Seattle bands. Here is a link to "Bad Times" off their new album "These Are The Good Times People", coming out on March 11th................ Bad Times

It would be awesome to pry my way into that shin dig. I wonder if they are going to record it and play it the next morning.

I'm saying you need to pull the power move and DEMAND tickets because of your position here! Tell him your dad is the king of showbiz, and that you definitely do not suck - you're all class, Mr. Rowe. -------------------- Twitter - http://twitter.com/sgwell

Wow, unfortunate time to start using acronymns "guy who typed up that announcement". I assume they'll not be bringing the 55 gallon drum of KY to this event, rather they will be hauling a metric ton of Tetracycline for the masses ready to get their VD on. ![]() Anyways, I do think it's really cool that Adam is heading to Seattle.....while I don't think he needs to meet with fans for lunch to show he cares, it is good he's getting to another market other than SoCal and Vegas. Good times. Oh, and SHOCKING that this announcement didn't come from the mothership KLSX...I'm sure they'll mention it the day before Adam heads up there. -------------------- Follow @CarollaBoards for updates & news! -- TWITTER ME @1780sGuy -- Archive of ALL Adam Carolla Podcasts -- Don't FREAKOUT, bookmark just in case! -- Dameshek Talk

Remember that the LA market is all that matters, so they may not even announce this at all. |

Planned Parenthood's Spin the Bottle Wheel? Am I alone in thinking that this is a bad idea for a gimmick, and one that somewhat runs counter to the organization that's sponsoring it? |

Didn't they mention on yesterdays show that their next event was in Vegas?

But it says they will give you a pack of rubbers on your way out. This is why people are irritated with Planned Parenthood. The organization seems to be as much about promoting sex as they are about promoting safe sex. -------------------- Danny was told to move on.

I can understand providing free condoms maybe along with a few pamphlets of educational materials, which seems like what they are doing with the "just in case pack" - that seems like sort of a noble goal, especially when you consider who shows up for remotes.
"Planned Parenthood Spin the Bottle Wheel" though? I'm wondering if it's next to the American Heart Association All-You-Can-Eat-French-Fries booth. This post has been edited by GermanyOrFlorida on January 10, 2008 01:48 pm |

Well, don't usually go to this kind of stuff, but if Adam is hosting I think I'll have to make an appearance.
Didn't he say something about being in Vegas around this time though (for their next remote)? |
