I love how Adam's shorts match Tom's shirt. They must have planned it...

Another good car cast

The part where Adam is riffing on Armageddon was awesome... I really wish he would release a podcast commentary of movies like Point Break. The we could sink that up with the movie and watch. I think this idea has been stated before with Bill Simmons.

Can someone explain the Shelby naming fee reference they kept making during the podcast?

That 2000HP Camaro is just sick. 250K Really doesn't seem that much for a work of art like that.

The lines of the 69 Camaro are just epic. With this version, it's looks hold up against any Italian supercar that's made today. Maybe the best car to grace Adam's podcast. Amazing...

You guys should check out more of Tom's work. The 'pulling up to the Del Taco' window" and "Billet cup holder" reference was from the video of Tom taking an incredible (and incredibly street-illegal) desert racing truck onto the streets of the San Fernando Valley.

Article:

Watch the video in the upper right corner.

Adam's jag on Armegeddon was funny, but he missed the worst part! These guys were working on parts that came from an internal combustion engine for a vehicle that's going to work in space! Last time I checked, internal combustion engines require AIR for combustion, and space has a serious LACK of air. There's a reason that space vehicles are electric powered...

It's something like this, look at Shelby's history. He did a lot for racing, but unlike many that give back to the sport he takes a lot more then he could give IMO. Ask any replica car maker, how about an autograph? Lay some bread out and you can get one, and maybe some of the $$ will make it to where it's supposed to go (feels shady). How about finding a bunch of never used cobra chassis in the back of a building, and on and on. Not my favorite guy so it's a long standing joke like if you use his name you owe him some bread. Oh, BTW, most of all the Cobra, Daytona, Tiger and GT40 work was done by him, but not often mention of some core people like Ken Miles, Pete Brock, etc. That did the work. He did a lot to be sure. But listen to the Pete Brock interview at the Monterey Historic where Adam and Pete yak it up you will get the idea.

BTW I will not have Shelby sign anything of mine, I would hit someone up like Burt Reynold as the Bandit tongue.gif

Thanks, I'm only just getting some time to get up here on the boards. I have a day job and it is amazing how much time a once a week show takes to do. Don't know how the Weez does the ACP show every day... Good stuff in any case.

I should also say that Tom's cars were crazy, on top of that Tom was a really nice guy that hung around the shop for a while and chatted about the 'good old days'

Prof,

With everything that's going on in Ace's career these days, what's the plan for the Car Cast?

Keep doing it biggrin.gif

It's pretty light for him until he runs out of cars to show...Then I have some, then finally the Weez's Bronco, worse case is he will have to enjoy his wine a bit later in the day. I think as long as it's fun we will do it, best answer I can give.
